Answer: She began to climb hills. She did so when she decided to check why the villagers climbing the hills vanished. Then she took admission in Uttarkashi’s Institute of Mountaineering. She went on an expedition every year.

Answer: During the 1992 Everest mission, she provided special care to a climber who was dying at the South, the lowest point on a mountain ridge. She saved the life of another climber Mohan Singh by sharing her oxygen with him.

Answer: Santosh collected and brought down 500 kilograms of garbage from the Himalayas on her way back from the 1992 Everest expedition. This shows her concern for the environment.
